UniChem Supports Community Blood Pressure Campaign
UniChem has once again offered its support to a local
campaign to help combat high blood pressure in Surrey, with the wider aim of
increasing public awareness of the services available in local community
pharmacies.
Meera Sharma, Professional Services Manager and Nim Saroay, Marketing Executive
for UniChem, offered their services to the Blood Pressure Measuring Day on 25
April, at Eden Walk, Kingston, in support of the annual campaign run by
Kingston Rotary Club and The Stroke Association. Meera, a registered
pharmacist, carried out free blood pressure tests for shoppers and offered
professional advice and support on maintaining a healthy BP level.
Commenting on the campaign Meera says: “UniChem has supported this initiative
for the last three years and we believe it is a fantastic way to raise
awareness of the services that a local community pharmacy can offer. There is
definitely demand from the public for accessible advice and services such as
blood pressure testing, and through campaigns such as these UniChem hopes that
consumers will be better aware of exactly what their community pharmacy can
offer.”
Hilary Buzasi of Kingston Rotary Club says: “We are delighted that UniChem has
once again supported this important campaign. The public needs to know more
about the healthcare services that are available in their area, and through
this initiative we hope to raise awareness and to encourage the local community
in Kingston to understand the importance of monitoring their health in a simple
and accessible way.”
