Alphega Pharmacy Growing in Strength in the UK
Alphega Pharmacy UK confirmed today that its membership has grown to an impressive 66 members, since its launch in November 2007.
Imogen Poliszczuk, Alphega Pharmacy UK Brand Manager and Anna-Marie Mason, Head of Marketing and Communications for UniChem, presented some of the highlights of the first eight months since the pan-European virtual chain launched in the UK. In particular they highlighted how Alphega Pharmacy has successfully expanded its package for UK members and how supplier support for the concept has enabled Alphega Pharmacy to offer its first high-profile product initiatives to members.
The update also incorporated findings from consumer research conducted in October 07 and June 08, which emphasised the positive impact that the implementation of the Alphega Pharmacy concept has had on the pharmacies that have been refitted to date.
Anna-Marie Mason commented: “We are committed to offering a membership package which can suit the needs of independent pharmacies, whether they are a single pharmacy or a part of a small independent group. We have a tiered membership approach which ensures we can provide an appropriate offering for all members.”
Imogen Poliszczuk added: “The package is also structured so that implementation of it is manageable within the busy pharmacy environment. In particular the concept is designed to engage all of the staff within the pharmacy team to ensure that the benefits can be felt across the pharmacy.”
Looking ahead, the future for Alphega Pharmacy UK is encouraging. In the coming months the team will unveil further exclusive product trials planned with major suppliers and will continue their work with the Alphega Pharmacy European network to ensure that the virtual chain continues to meet UK members needs in providing a benchmark community pharmacy offering. Further Alphega Pharmacy highlights will be profiled at the Alphega Pharmacy 2008 European Convention, which takes place on 17 and 18 November in London.
