Introduction of Fuel Surcharge, Effective 8 September
2008
Following several years of escalating fuel prices, UniChem
has advised customers that from 8 September 2008 it will be introducing a fuel
surcharge of £14.00 per month, for the delivery of products to all first and
second line Pharmacy and Dispensing Doctor customers in the UK.
John Geddes, Director of Sales comments:
“Along with other logistics companies, UniChem has been closely evaluating the
impact that the significantly increased price of fuel is having on our
business. We have made every effort to ensure that for as long as possible we
did not pass on these costs to our customers. However, we are now in a position
whereby we have been forced to carefully consider whether we can continue to
absorb these costs without affecting our capability to continue providing the
high levels of service that our customers expect."
“This decision follows extensive consideration of all of the options available
to us and I would like to assure customers that UniChem remains fully committed
to delivering the highest possible levels of service in a challenging economic
climate. “
UniChem has made every effort to communicate this change to its customers. Any
customers with queries relating to this matter are asked to contact their local
UniChem Account Manager directly.
