Employee family day helps 2,000 mothers and children at risk of malnutrition

A family day at Alliance Healthcare Croydon Service Centre helped raise donations for Vitamin Angels, providing much-needed vitamins to 2,000 mothers and children at risk of malnutrition.

Alliance Healthcare employees at Croydon Service Centre recently came together with their friends and family to enjoy a family day, whilst also raising over £400 for Vitamin Angels.

The charity provides life-saving vitamins to mothers and children under five at risk of malnutrition, which is one of the causes of preventable child deaths.

And with as little as 20 pence per day, Vitamin Angels can provide much-needed vitamins to those in need. Thanks to the team at Croydon 2,000 mothers and children will receive this support.

The event was set up by Katerina Lalosakova, Croydon Warehouse Operations Manager, and the mother and daughter duo, Dawn and Gemma Goodwin, who run the canteen at Croydon. With fun activities including face painting, bouncy castles, mini golf, BBQ and a friendly game of football, there was plenty of entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

Following the event, Katerina Lalosakova said: "I can't believe that the money we raised will be able to help so many people.

"This is the first time that we have ever done this type of event at Croydon and I felt quite emotional seeing everyone come together and enjoy themselves – I'm already planning next year's event."

Julian Mount, Alliance Healthcare Managing Director, also joined in the fun and took a few moments to congratulate the team on their achievements over the last year and thank them for their dedication and support to their community. He also presented Katerina, Dawn and Gemma with a small gift for their efforts in bringing the Croydon event to fruition.
