Local Leigh MP Jo Platt Opens New Alliance Healthcare Service Centre

On 5 April 2019, a new Service Centre serving Alliance Healthcare, NWOS and Cavendish, and home to over 300 colleagues was officially opened in Leigh by local MP, Jo Platt.

Ms Platt ‘cut the ribbon' and unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark the official opening of the new Leigh Service Centre, which, by combining the activities of the Alliance Healthcare in the UK, Cavendish and NWOS businesses, has become the UK central surgical hub for Alliance Healthcare.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior management from Alliance Healthcare, local customers and Mayor of Wigan, Councillor Susan Greensmith, as well as council colleagues including Councillor Ron Conway, Portfolio Holder for Health.

The Leigh 114,000 square foot Service Centre is located in Green Fold Way which

  • Employs 300 colleagues
  • Operates a 6 day operation
  • Hosts an inventory of over 10,000 lines
  • Picks 100,000 units per day equating to 8,200 daily orders
  • Manages twice daily deliveries in the morning and afternoon
  • Has 38 vehicles which drive around 1.6 million miles per annum

Julian Mount, Managing Director of Alliance Healthcare said, "This investment into an improved and modern site in Leigh is the next stage in our evolution to improve operational performance now and into the future. It is designed to not only support our current business needs, but also better meet the needs of our customers and their patients."
